Almost 3,000 inhabitants of Crimea are ready to become donors of stem cells

As conversations with potential donors of stem cells show, the formulation of the “bone marrow donation” is frightened or alarmed by many. Imagination draws people a full -fledged operation. Currently, in fact, it is taking place in the same way as the usual donation of donor blood, only takes more time. Not even needed local anesthesia— said Olga Chos, head of the Donor Donor Personnel Department of the Donor Personnel.

Recall that in order to join the federal register of bone marrow donors, it is necessary to contact the GBUZ RK “Center of Blood” or one of its branches with a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation and SNILS, fill out a small questionnaire. Then several milliliters of blood from a vein are passed. If no contraindications for donation have been identified, then a potential donor is included in the federal register.

We also recall that it is possible to voluntarily donate blood and/or enter the federal register of bone marrow donors in the Republic of Crimea in the GBUZ RK “Center of Blood” (Simferopol, Kyiv St., 37), as well as in its branches (Yalta, Sverdlov St., 14; Kerch, Karl Marx St., Saki, Lobozov St., 22; G. Evpatoria, 22 Victory Ave.), or during the «donor days» by the visiting brigade of the blood center in municipalities.

Reception is carried out on business days daily from 8:00 to 13:00. Information about the work of visiting brigades and on working Saturdays is regularly published on the website of the Blood Center and on its social networks. It is necessary to have a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation and SNILS with you.
