Almost 4.7 thousand jobs were created in the free economic zone of Crimea

About 4.7 thousand jobs were created by participants in the free economic zone (FEZ) of the Crimean Peninsula, who became its residents since 2022. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation.

The Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation has been coordinating the implementation of the state program of the Russian Federation “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol” since October 2022, the department recalled.

Since October 2022, its participants (FEZ — approx. TASS) became 153 legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. They created 4,683 new jobs. In total, the participants of the SEZ are 1.5 thousand business entities, 90% of which are small and medium-sized businessesthe ministry said.

Attracting investments

The department noted the importance of the SEZ for attracting investment to the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and ensuring macroeconomic stability in the context of international sanctions.

Including since the coordination of work by the Russian Ministry of Construction, 157 objects and events have been implemented on the peninsula. Recently, we have managed to achieve a significant increase in cash execution for objects and in general the effectiveness of the State Program, — Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Vadim Vasiliev was quoted in the press service.

Among the significant objects, the Ministry of Construction noted the eighth stage of the Tavrida highway in Sevastopol, the upcoming commissioning of the Simferopol-Evpatoria-Mirny highway this year and the work to preserve the “House in which the artist I.K. lived.” Aivazovsky (1845-1892)”, recognized as an object of cultural heritage of federal significance.
