Almost half of Russians have additional income

Avito Rabota conducted a survey of 2,000 respondents and found that 42% of Russians are trying to increase their total earnings through additional payments. Most often these are payments for overtime and work on holidays (13%). 25% of Russians have one source of income in the form of salary. Respondents spend their extra earnings on improving their quality of life, expensive purchases, travel, and more. Among the reasons for working part-time, 25% of Russians indicate that they do not want to rely on one source of income, 24% — the desire to increase their total income, 23% — the need to occupy their free time, 15% — an interest in working on a specific project.
Other common ways to increase total earnings are bonuses and additional payments for meeting key performance indicators (12%), part-time work (10%), passive (5%) and project income (2%).
A third (35%) of Russians noted that their monthly income depends by 20%-50% on additional financial sources and additional payments. 29% third-party payments bring up to 20% of monthly income.
When asked how often respondents work overtime and/or on weekends, half (50%) of Russians chose the answer 1-2 times a month. Another quarter (27%) work additionally 1-2 times a week, and 10% work almost every week (3-4 times a month). 6% of respondents take on additional volumes 5-7 times a week. Almost the same number (7%) do not work overtime at all.
In total, Russians most often spend from 5 to 9 hours a week on overtime (35%). Often specialists work overtime less than 5 hours (28%) and 10-19 hours (25%). 17% of respondents devote more than 20 hours a week to additional income.
