An 18-year-old resident of Dzhankoy district will answer for 4 counts of large-scale fraud

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Dzhankoy District Court explains:

In the spring of this year, through the Telegram Internet application, an unidentified person entered into a criminal conspiracy with the defendant to steal funds from citizens by deceiving them, reporting that their relatives were in trouble, and for a certain amount it was possible to resolve this situation . The guy acted as a courier, collecting funds from the victims from the addresses indicated to him, and subsequently transferring them to a bank card number, which an unidentified person was supposed to provide on the Telegram network. He took part of the money for himself as a reward for his “work.” Thus, it turned out to deceive 4 people. All of them were elderly people. The total damage caused amounted to more than 1.5 million rubles. Thanks to the police, part of the money was confiscated from the defendant and returned to its rightful owners. At the court hearing, the defendant admitted his guilt and explained that he wanted to earn money. The court, having comprehensively studied the case materials, taking into account mitigating circumstances, found the guy guilty under Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment.

He will serve his sentence in a general regime colony. The civil claim filed by the prosecutor in the interests of the victims was satisfied in full.

The verdict did not enter into legal force.
