An accomplice of the Ukrainian special services will be tried in Crimea for bombing a car and attempting to murder

In Crimea, a criminal investigation has been completed against a 39-year-old native of the Vinnitsa region. He is accused of attempted murder of citizens in connection with their official activities and the performance of public duty, committed in a generally dangerous manner by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy for hire; illegal trafficking in explosives and explosive devices (part 3 of article 30, paragraphs “a”, “b”, “f”, “g”, “h” part 2 of article 105, paragraph “a” Part 3 of Article 222.1, Part 2 of Article 223.1, paragraph “a” of Part 3 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

An investigator from the Department for Particularly Important Cases established that a native of the Vinnitsa region living in Simferopol, on instructions from the SBU curator, organized an attempted murder of three officials of the military-civil administration of the Zaporozhye region. For committing this crime, the perpetrator was promised a reward of 10 thousand US dollars, which was supposed to go to the account of one of his relatives living in Ukraine.

According to the planned plan, the route for the movement of officials from Melitopol to Simferopol was established, an explosive was purchased, from which the perpetrator made an explosive device in his garage. The mechanism was installed under the gas cylinder of a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 and activated remotely in the early morning of June 19, 2023 while the vehicle was driving along the Evpatoria Highway. As a result, three employees of the Zaporozhye Region Military Administration who were in the foreign car were seriously injured, and they were provided with timely medical assistance. There is currently no threat to the lives and health of the victims.— reported the Investigative Committee.

The accomplice of the Ukrainian special services was identified and detained during special events by operatives of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

The defendant in the criminal case was taken into custody at the request of the investigator; he confessed and assisted the investigative authorities. During searches at the detainee’s place of residence, items used to create an explosive mechanism, a control panel, electronic media and mobile phones containing correspondence with curators from the SBU were seized,” the investigators clarified.

During the investigation of the criminal case, more than 20 different examinations were organized, including explosive and genetic, fingerprint and forensic examinations; a wide range of witnesses and other persons of interest to the investigation were questioned; Over 40 inspections were carried out at places of movement of the accused, storage and production of explosives, transport, and technical means with which the contractor communicated with the customer.

The investigation has been completed. The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea sent the criminal case to the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of the city of Simferopol.
