The Crimean Federal University hosted the annual youth action “For the Children of Beslan”, timed to coincide with the Day of Solidarity in the Fight against Terrorism. The event traditionally took place on the territory of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor of the Medical Institute of KFU.
Beslan and tragedy are synonyms. There are things that always live in the hearts of people, and especially those who witnessed this tragedy. Terrorism is a phenomenon that has no borders, no statute of limitations, no religions. As long as we remember, as long as we breathe, as long as we know the sources of this evil, we will always find weapons against terrorism. Our strength lies in the unity of the great people of Russia. If we move forward towards one common goal, then no terrorist acts, no military threats will stop us on this path.— the press service of the university quotes the acting rector of the Crimean Federal University Vladimir Kuryanov.
The event was attended by representatives of the university, religious denominations and public authorities. For them, schoolchildren and students prepared a theatrical performance «The day when childhood ended …».
The protesters honored the memory of the dead with a minute of silence, lit candles and laid flowers.
The action is organized jointly by students and employees of the Crimean Federal University, the Crimean University of Culture, Arts and Tourism, the Crimean Engineering and Pedagogical University named after Fevzi Yakubov, schoolchildren, as well as the State Committee for Youth Policy and the Youth House of the Republic of Crimea.
