CrimeaPRESS reports:

The employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Sevastopol carried out another operation to destroy the explosive legacy of the Great Patriotic War. They eliminated a German SC-250 aerial bomb. The 250-kilogram munition was located in the waters near Cape Khersones, one hundred meters from the shore, at a depth of about six meters.

This aerial bomb was used to destroy enemy manpower, equipment and fortifications. The operation involved 12 personnel, 3 vehicles, 2 watercraft, – says Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal Service Arsen Smailov, Deputy Chief of the Specialized Detachment of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol.

Divers from the emergency department examined the find, assessed the condition and type of fuses. It turned out that the bomb could not be raised to the surface and taken to the testing ground. Therefore, it was eliminated at sea, at the place of discovery. The operation was loud and spectacular, but in a routine manner, with all safety measures observed.
