An anonymous rapid HIV testing campaign was held in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On the day of the fight against AIDS, doctors of the AIDS Center and the public movement “Medical Volunteers” organized anonymous free HIV testing for everyone on Nakhimov Square. About 70 people took part in the action.
Today, this disease most affects people of reproductive age, working people, and our task is to identify people with HIV as much as possible, bring them to treatment so that they can continue to live. It is also very important to tell young people that the institution of family is very important for the prevention of infection, namely the institution of marriage, when we have one sexual partner, this significantly reduces the risk of infection,” the press service of the medical psychologist at the AIDS Center of the city of Sevastopol, Marina Volk, quotes.
There is a Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS in Sevastopol, where they identify the disease and help people live with it.
For our society, testing for HIV should be the norm; knowing the HIV status of your sexual partner means protecting not only yourself and your partner from infection, but also the opportunity to start treatment earlier with the least health risks if the result is positive.says Natalya Arkadova, an epidemiologist at the Sevastopol AIDS Center.
Residents of the city who did not have time to undergo testing for HIV infection today can come to the Sevastopol AIDS Center at the address: st. Kommunisticheskaya, 40 and make it free every weekday from 08:00 to 13:00.
