An ax in the hands of a drunken brawler is like a gun on the wall in a play. Case in Sudak

In Sudak, a local resident was sentenced to restriction of freedom for threatening to kill. A 25-year-old man was found guilty by the court under Part 1 of Art. 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (threat of murder).

In June 2023, due to a long-term conflict with neighbors, the convict, while intoxicated, reacted aggressively to noise in their yard. The convict took an ax and, uttering death threats against the victim, swung it in his direction. Given the current situation, the man perceived the threats expressed realistically— said the prosecutor’s office.

The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 1 year of restriction of freedom. The verdict did not enter into legal force.

PS. For what? And so that it would be discouraging to swing. Let’s consider this as prevention.
