An embroidered map of Crimea was presented in Simferopol

On the occasion of Russia Day, a presentation of the project “Embroidered Map of Crimea” took place in Simferopol. The area of the map is 9 square meters, and more than 20 different materials and techniques were used in its creation. 11 city districts, 14 municipalities, 1 federal city — all of this can be seen and even touched.
Minister of Culture of the Republic of Crimea Tatyana Manezhina noted that the “Embroidered Map of Crimea” is a unique project that clearly displays the unique creativity, diversity of cultural traditions and ethnocultural heritage of the Crimeans.
In the Year of the Family, we together, as one creative Crimean family, present our embroidered map, which attracted great attention at the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”. From today, the map will be on display at the Crimean Ethnographic Museum, and each guest will be able to get to know the regions of the peninsula better, become interested in their features and visit in person. I thank each participant in the project for their talent, skill and sincere love for the Motherland! We have something to preserve and something to pass on to future generations.— said the head of the republican department, congratulated her on Russia Day and wished her happiness, success, goodness and peace.
As part of the event, the book “Embroidered Map of Crimea” was also presented, which tells about the history of the creation of a unique canvas. The publication shows fragments of a map describing the features of ethnic embroidery of the peninsula.
