An explosive find in the east of Crimea. Pyrotechnics of the Ministry of Emergency Situations defused a 122-millimeter projectile

On June 20, in the village of Yakovenkovo ​​(Leninsky district of Crimea), pyrotechnicians of the Special Marine Detachment of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea carried out an operation to neutralize an explosive object from the times of the Great Patriotic War. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia discovered and identified an explosive object AS-122.

Explosive item removed, transported and destroyed at a special site. Pyrotechnic works on neutralization were carried out in compliance with all necessary safety measures. In total, 5 personnel and 2 pieces of equipment were involved in pyrotechnic work to neutralize an explosive object from the Russian Emergencies Ministrythe emergency department said.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea recalls that it is extremely important to strictly follow the rules of action when objects resembling explosives are found:

— in the production of excavation or other work, immediately stop or stop the work being performed;

— quickly and carefully move away from the object to a safe distance;

— warn others about a dangerous find;

— to protect or otherwise exclude accidental access to the danger zone of unauthorized people before the arrival of officials;

— immediately report a dangerous find to the police (by calling «102») and the Ministry of Emergency Situations (by calling «101» or «112»);

— if possible, wait for the arrival of officials and indicate to them the location of the explosive object.

It is forbidden:

— approach, touch and move explosive objects from their place;

— pick up, strike at them, make attempts to disassemble;

— carry or roll them from place to place;

— to attempt to neutralize or remove them from the ground;

— break or pull the wires or wires extending from them.
