An extensive intelligence network of Ukrainian special services has been identified in Crimea

This year, the FSB stopped the activities of an extensive intelligence network of the Ukrainian special services in Crimea, and 14 acts of sabotage and terrorism were prevented. This was reported by the Public Relations Center (PSC) of the FSB of Russia.

The FSB, in cooperation with the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, in 2023 suppressed the activities of a deeply clandestine, extensive intelligence network of Ukrainian special services, created under the control of so-called Western curators on the territory of the Republic of Crimea to commit high-profile sabotage and terrorist acts against representatives of government bodies, military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces and the FSB Russia, as well as transport and energy infrastructure facilities of the peninsulathe message says.

The agents were arrested, their handlers from the SBU and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine were identified. 10 people have already been convicted for preparing acts of sabotage and terrorism.

The commission of 14 acts of sabotage and terrorism (DTA) was prevented, including the explosions of six sections of the railway track, two gas distribution equipment facilities, three electrical substations and three vehicles. 15 caches prepared by Ukrainian special services were discovered, from which 37 improvised explosive devices and more than 200 kg of explosives were seizednoted the FSB.

The targets of the planned attacks were the Head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov, the speaker of the republican parliament Vladimir Konstantinov, the head of the Yalta administration Yanina Pavlenko, blogger Alexander Talipov and public figure Oleg Tsarev.

18 agents and accomplices of the Ukrainian special services were detained, involved in committing five acts of sabotage on sections of railway tracks in the Simferopol, Kirov regions of the Republic of Crimea and in the Feodosia region, undermining gas pipelines in Simferopol and Koreiz, as well as vehicles belonging to a representative of the administration of the Zaporozhye region and military personnel of the Ministry of Defense Russian Federation taking part in a special military operation— reported the FSB Central Operations Center.

Currently, the investigative authorities have opened more than 30 criminal cases of a terrorist nature, and are carrying out the necessary set of investigative actions and operational investigative measures. The legislation of the Russian Federation provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 25 years for the crimes incriminated against the defendants, the FSB emphasized.
