An interdepartmental headquarters will be created in Sevastopol to combat garbage

CrimeaPRESS reports:

An interdepartmental headquarters has been created in Sevastopol to reform the management of municipal solid waste. The corresponding order signed by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev was published on the official website of the city government.

In the Regulations on the Headquarters, notes «Sevastopol newspaper»it is said that it will become a permanent advisory body under the governor of Sevastopol. The tasks of the headquarters include “preparing proposals related to the development and implementation of state policy, legal regulation on the organization of activities in the field of solid waste management in three main areas:

  • sustainability of the regional operator for MSW management;
  • provision of storage areas, containers, special equipment;
  • provision of infrastructure.

The task of the headquarters is to consider and prepare proposals in the designated area, work on draft federal laws, promote the use of innovative technologies in the field of solid waste processing, make proposals for holding thematic conferences, symposiums, meetings, seminars, promote specialized interaction between executive authorities and municipalities, etc. d..

The headquarters will consist of the chairman (city governor), his deputy (first deputy governor), secretary (director of the city affairs department) and members of the staff (10 officials plus all heads of municipalities).

Headquarters decisions will be advisory in nature and documented in the form of protocols.
