An open day was held at Sevastopol colleges and technical schools

The first open day of this academic year was held in seven colleges and technical schools subordinate to the Department of Education and Science. About 400 children, together with their parents, visited institutions of secondary vocational education and learned about the opportunities that exist at the Sevastopol Trade and Economic College, the Institute for Educational Development, the College of Information Technology and Industry, the College of Service and Trade, and the Multidisciplinary College named after Marshal of the Engineering Troops A.V. Gelovani, architectural and construction technical school, professional art college.

Choosing the right profession means finding your place in life. Open days are an excellent opportunity to find out in advance about your future place of study, conditions, and meet teachers. Today, secondary vocational education institutions in Sevastopol train specialists in 54 areas of training. In 2024, 11,503 applications were submitted to college and technical school admissions offices, an increase of 31% compared to last year. The average passing grade this year was 4.5, in 2023 – 4.0. This suggests that young people are willing to choose blue-collar jobs– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the Department of Education and Science Maxim Krivonos.

The head of the department also recalled that the secondary vocational education system provides a wide range of opportunities for the professional and personal development of a young person. Students can participate in the championship movement, show their skills, learn from the best, and meet potential employers. Students can show their creative abilities at events both in their college and at citywide events. The guys also actively participate in project activities and attend youth forums.
