An ostrich farm will appear in Sevastopol

In 2021, the Agrostartap grant in the amount of 1.5 million rubles made it possible to create a farm of the Black African ostriches in Sevastopol. The business plan provided for the creation and development of the economy of the Swiss Courtyard eco-farm in the village of Orlin.

At the initial stage, we understood that our own resources are not enough to implement our project and turned to the Department of Agriculture for help. Our project liked and got a good start for the further development of the economy. Agrostartap was sent to the purchase of the uterine number of ostrich, special incubators, a guing to the tractor to provide themselves with a feed base,-quoted the press service of the Government of Sevastopol by the head of the eco-farm Elena Fontana.

Thanks to the grant on the site, an angar and an open pen for grazing were built, a separate hangar for chicks. Now the farm is taken out of the chicks for their own needs and for farms in other regions of the country, they realize meat, egg, fat and skin of an ostrich. By 2026, the production of more than 50 incubation eggs per year is planned.

According to the head of the farm, ostriches tolerate temperatures from -20 to +50 degrees well, so Sevastopol has ideal conditions for the development of this type of agricultural activity.

As the farm develops, the idea of ​​the development of rural tourism came and in 2024 the entrepreneur was provided with an agrotourism grant in the form of a subsidy of 3 million rubles. The grant will allow you to equip the entrance to the farm, pedestrian paths, build a food co -sort and a barbecue area for gastronomic excursions, and make a improvement of the territory with the installation of benches, swings and hammocks.

The ostrich farm is the successful experience of a developing farm, which was given by the Agrostartap Grant. To receive a grant, the potential applicant may apply with the business project to the Department of Agriculture and take part in the competition until June 24. The maximum amount of subsidies for one participant is more than 3 million rubles, and the total amount of financing is 9 million rubles.

Recall that from 2019 to 2024, 15 Sevastopolites took advantage of support measures to open farms, acquisition of equipment and construction of premises.
