The opening of the updated cable car to Ai-Petri is an important event for the entire tourism industry of the Crimean Peninsula. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea — Minister of Finance of the Republic of Crimea Irina Kiviko.
I am pleased to congratulate the residents of the republic and guests of Crimea on the opening of the updated cable car to Ai-Petri, which, of course, has been one of the hallmarks of the peninsula for many years. This is a significant event for our entire tourism industry. Of course, for its part, the government of the republic provided all possible assistance to this project and we would like to see more such projects, especially since we have both the potential and the reserve for the future for this,” the press service quotes Irina Kiviko.
As the Deputy Prime Minister noted, the main innovations of the attraction are the updated design of the cable stations and a completely redesigned logistics system.
Now the cable car starts near the village of Miskhor and leads to the Ai-Petri plateau. The ascent is carried out from the middle station “Sosnovy Bor”. The length of this section is 1620 meters with an elevation difference of 735 meters; guests overcome this path in just 7 minutes.
To get on the cable car, you need to come to the Ai-Petri Tourist Center, from there there is a bus service to the Sosnovy Bor station, which runs at intervals of 10 minutes. The operating hours of the cable car are from 10:00 to 19:30.
Information: the cable car to Ai-Petri is a unique tourist attraction, which is the hallmark of the southern coast of Crimea. The history of the cable car began with construction in 1967. It was completed in 1988 and immediately became not only a popular tourist attraction, but also an important socially significant object.
In October 2022, the cable car ceased operation as it required proper maintenance and reconstruction.
