And he borrowed money and stole it, but what he was counting on is unclear… The theft was discovered in the Dzhankoy district

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In the Dzhankoy district, the police identified a suspect in the theft of a large sum of money. The circumstances of the theft are surprising due to the irrationality and naivety of the criminal.

A resident of one of the villages of the Dzhankoy district contacted the duty station of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Dzhankoisky” with a statement about the theft of a wallet containing money in the amount of 70,000 rubles.

As a result of the activities carried out, local police officers established the identity and location of the theft suspect. He turned out to be a 32-year-old previously convicted resident of the Saki district— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

As the police found out, the man came to visit the victim to borrow money. The woman, trusting him, opened her wallet and took out the required amount, after which she went into the next room. Seeing the remaining money in the wallet, the man stole it, then threw it away and spent the money on his own needs.

The suspect confessed to his crime and wrote a confession. The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Dzhankoisky» opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
