And the moped was confiscated and sent to a colony… How the court punished a drunk driver in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Crimea, the Sovetsky District Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against a 58-year-old local resident. The man was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a mechanical vehicle by a person who is intoxicated and has a criminal record for a similar crime).
The court found that the man, having a criminal record for driving while intoxicated, did not draw the appropriate conclusions for himself and this year, while intoxicated, again began driving an Alpha moped. The attacker’s actions were stopped by the traffic police— reported the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea.
The court, taking into account his existing criminal record and the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to 7 months in prison with deprivation of the right to drive all types of vehicles for 4 years. The convicted person will serve his sentence in a settlement colony. The Alpha moped belonging to the attacker was confiscated to the state. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
