And we know (and we’ll tell you now) what kind of premiere the Crimean Puppet Theater is preparing

An artistic council was held at the Crimean Academic Puppet Theater, where the project for the first production of the year, “Cat Odyssey,” based on the play by Ekaterina Tochanskaya, was discussed.

The production team — director Vitalia Taranova and artist Eduard Kulish — presented the concept of the performance, the design layout of the production, sketches of puppets and costumes, as well as the solution to the director’s tasks in the space of the stage. The proposed option aroused interest and received positive assessments from members of the artistic council— reported the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.

This is the first directorial work for the Honored Artist of the Republic of Crimea Vitalia Taranova.

As for the performance, we would venture to assume that we are talking about Ekaterina Tochanskaya’s play “CAT PRO” (2019). Three years ago, this play about a dreamer cat, a traveler and a romantic was staged by the Evpatorians — the Crimean Youth Theater. It was practically a stand-up, the more interesting the “puppet reading”, because in the original there are about a dozen characters (some sailors — Dobry, Usatiy, and Striped).
