Andrei Brezhnev is a successful politician and economist, the grandson of one of the leaders of the USSR Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev. For 10 years he was a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
Childhood and youth
Andrey Yurievich Brezhnev — a native Muscovite, was born on March 15, 1961 in the family of statesman Yuri Brezhnev and his wife, an English teacher, Lyudmila Brezhneva. Andrey became the second child in the family, he had Leonid. Brezhnev received his higher education at MGIMO, from which he successfully graduated in 1983.
His first place of work was the foreign trade association Soyuzkhimexport. After 2 years, he took the position of financial attaché of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and after a short time he was already deputy head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Ministry of Trade. After the collapse of the USSR, Andrei Brezhnev collaborated with various commercial organizations and charitable foundations.
Activity
Brezhnev’s political career began in 1998, when he created and headed the All-Russian Communist Social Movement. Subsequently, his candidacy was repeatedly nominated in regional elections, but received only a small number of votes.
In 2002 Andrey Yurievich Brezhnev became the head of the “New Communist Party” he organized, and later became a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Since 2014, he has taken the place of first secretary of the Communist Party of Social Justice. The politician also ran for elections at various levels, but failed everywhere.
Personal life and family
For more than 40 years, Andrei Brezhnev was married to Nadezhda Viktorovna Lyamina. She gave birth to a policy of two heirs — Leonid and Dmitry. The divorce occurred in 2002. The second time Andrei Yuryevich married his chosen one named Elena, who had children from previous marriages. But this union soon fell apart. Friends noted that the politician was an extremely decent and very reserved person, who was afraid of casting a shadow on his grandfather’s memory through careless actions. His only truly close friend was his father, who died in 2013.
Last years
Andrei Brezhnev spent the last years of his life in Sevastopol. He also loved to visit his house on the Black Sea coast. The dacha was built in the village of Maly Mayak, not far from Yalta. The politician had high hopes for this region, dreaming of making it a real resort reserve. Therefore, he wanted to run for parliament and organize an influx of investment funds.
Andrei Brezhnev died on July 10, 2018 at the age of 57. Doctors stated that death was due to a heart attack. He was buried in the capital at the Novodevichy cemetery.
