Anomalous changes in the weather on the planet become the norm — the Crimean climatologist. Seasons are changing

We live in a period of climatic changes. In Crimea, changes in weather parameters have become noticeable even at the level of residents. If earlier scientists talked about changes in temperature, now the person himself feels it on himself— said Igor Vakhrushev, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism of the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology and Tourism of the Tauride Academy of the KFU, KFU.

According to him, at the beginning of 2025, international scientific journals devoted to climate change, several large publications were published in which many experts noted that the classical perception of seasons is changing.

The introduction of new scientifically sound types of seasons was proposed. There are only three of them. The first thing that is proposed in the introduction is asymmetric seasons — when our season or another lasts longer or shorter than usual. For example, as we had last year — a protracted summer that went beyond the borders of September — said the expert.

The second feature is the so -called syncoping seasons, that is, classic weather seasons, but with other temperature indicators that go beyond the norm. This is exactly what is observed in Crimea this summer, when temperature indicators exceeded the norm.

The so -called fading seasons were determined. This is a weakening of some weather parameters. For example, everyone is accustomed to the snow winter, but it is notorious— added Vakhrushev.

In addition, scientists identify the so -called anthropogenic seasons, that is, those caused by a person. For example, the season is in Southeast Asia.

According to him, in the context of climate change, abnormal weather changes become the norm and they will increase.
