Another scam in Crimea: a fraudster stole more than half a million rubles from two pensioners

The 62-year-old resident of Yalta took the money from the victims, after which he transferred it to the accounts of the scammers. The elderly women turned to the police and said that unknown people called on the phone and convinced them to give courier to save relatives.
So the 80-year-old resident of the Bakhchisarai district was reported that her daughter was in a road accident and urgently needed financial assistance. Confident that she helps a loved one, the pensioner handed over 340 thousand rubles to her to her. According to the same scheme, the courier received 180 thousand rubles from a 72-year-old woman from the Dzhankoy district. The victims of scammers remembered the car on which the messenger moved for money and handed over signs to police officers. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the police, the suspect was detained the very next day. According to the Yalta, using the Telegram messenger, he received an offer to elastic earnings as a courier. All funds transferred by elderly women were transferred to the accounts of an unidentified person, and the suspect left 10 thousand rubles to himself as a reward for the performance of criminal actions,-the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Republic of Crimea said.
Investigative departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Bakhchisarai district and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Dzhankoysky» on two facts of fraud, criminal cases have been instituted under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The detainee was chosen by a preventive measure in the form of detention. Investigative actions are ongoing, measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the crime and the identification of its accomplices.
