Anxiety disorder – what is its danger?

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Anxiety is, unfortunately, a familiar feeling for us. The modern world, with its ever-accelerating pace of life, powerful information pressure, epidemics, natural disasters and other negative phenomena, constantly gives us reasons for fear and anxiety. It should be noted that anxiety itself is a natural and useful reaction. Our body sends a signal of danger, calls on us to be attentive and careful, ready to respond properly and in a timely manner to the threat. When the reason for concern becomes irrelevant, then the anxiety goes away. This is how the defense mechanism of a healthy body works.

However, if stress factors overload the nervous system, the body begins to react inadequately — an anxious state appears without any reason, becomes chronic and becomes uncontrollable. This is already a disease called anxiety disorder.

It must be said that in recent years, the increase in the incidence of anxiety disorders has acquired the nature of an epidemic, which is primarily associated with the covid pandemic. According to the World Health Organization, in the first year of the pandemic alone, the number of people suffering from this disease worldwide increased by 25% and exceeded 300 million people.

What symptoms may indicate an anxiety disorder?

  1. The disappearance of the cause for concern does not lead to relief from the anxious state.
  2. Unlike ordinary, natural anxiety, when a person can determine the reason that caused it, with an anxiety disorder the reasons can often be far-fetched.
  3. Deterioration in living comfort. A constant feeling of anxiety affects your physical condition — headaches, insomnia, chronic fatigue, and digestive problems may appear. Obsession with disturbing thoughts negatively affects communication with people, interest in life, productivity, and leads to professional burnout.

Unfortunately, most people know virtually nothing about anxiety disorders and do not perceive chronic anxiety as a disease.

To increase public awareness on this issue, a special Internet portal was launched in 2023 «Territory without anxiety». According to the publication dni.ruon this resource you can take tests to determine your level of anxiety, consult with specialists, get acquainted with current methods of prevention and treatment of anxiety disorders, and learn about modern effective and safe anti-anxiety medications.

The main selection criterion is maximum effect with a high level of safety and minimization of side effects, such as drowsiness, muscle weakness, and decreased concentration. It is important that the use of the drug does not lead to addiction and the so-called “withdrawal effect”. As an example of a drug that fully meets all of the above conditions, we can name the Russian Afobazol Retard. Its important additional advantage is a very convenient course of administration — Afobazole Retard should be taken one tablet per day for a month.

Modern medications are a powerful weapon against anxiety disorders. However, along with medications, the most important element of anti-anxiety therapy is a healthy lifestyle. Maintaining a rest and sleep schedule, a healthy diet, and physical activity will be an excellent help in the fight against the disease. And, of course, try to receive positive emotions more often: the more there are, the faster your body will recover.
