On Akulinin, the day was considered to be people, in no case should you look out of the window. But they tried to walk and watch nature as much as possible. And as early as April 20, rituals dedicated to mermaids were held. Women crushed them, asking them to store men and children from all sorts of troubles. They also asked that there were no drowned people in families.
In Russian folklore, the mermaid was described as a very dangerous creature that languished and prevented people from living. Girls who died before the wedding turned into mermaids, suicides or mothers strangled in a dream.
By the way, in Rus’ they were sure that the mermaids, living in reservoirs, often go to land. And they can be found in the gardens, near the baths and in Ovins. It was said that these creatures turn into water lilies in the daytime, so escaping from the sun. And at night they gain a human appearance, play and lead round dances on the shore. That is why it was believed that the person, tearing the jug, kills the mermaid.
The church now honors the memory of the martyrs of obstetrician and Rufin, who by the power of their faith converted 200 Roman warriors to Christianity.
As for the weather, then:
- Strong and “long -playing” rain to the poor crop of Kalina and Yarov.
- There are many stars in the sky? To the rich harvest of forest berries and mushrooms.
- The morning frost, which takes place with dawn, will be a lot of buckwheat and bread.
- The rain went on April 20 — there will be a rich raspberry crop.
