The church on April 28 honors the memory of the holy Apostle Puda. This is one of the seventy apostles who were sent with the Gospel gospel before the coming of Jesus. Saint Pud, together with Peter, suffered martyrdom in Rome during the reign of Emperor Nero, who organized numerous persecutions of Christians.
People believed that April 28 was the ideal day for harvesting medicinal herbs, as well as rowan and viburnum buds. And today, beekeepers are inspecting apiaries and omshaniks where hives were stored for the winter.
