April frosts: about 30% of cherries and plums were affected in Crimea
Krympress reports:
On April 6-8, a storm warning was announced on the peninsula due to severe rains and snow, as well as April 8 and 9 due to a decrease in air temperature to 1-6 degrees of heat, and in the steppe and foothill areas due to frosts up to 2 degrees.
Two days we are conducting serious monitoring. Tonight was decisive for us, the next one will no longer be so frosty. We have about 30% on the cherries, in the early varieties of plums — not that there will be crop failure, but we will not get this culture. We try to compensate for this due to late varieties, after all, they were not so affected. The apple tree and late -blossoming cultures were least affected. Under the press of frost, first of all, almonds, the early varieties of cherries, which we usually enter the market, and peach fell under the press— he said.
Now the ministry is counting damaged gardens in hectares, which will take several days.
