Archaeological exhibition «Shelter of an ancient warrior» opened in the Khan's Palace of Bakhchisarai

Museum of History and Culture of the Crimean Tatars Bakhchisaray Museum-Reserve a joint exhibition with the Institute of Archeology of the Crimea of the Russian Academy of Sciences, «The Shelter of the Ancient Warrior», is open to the public. The exposition includes objects discovered during archaeological excavations of the necropolis of the 3rd — 5th centuries. Suvlu-Kaya, located in the northeastern part of Bakhchisaray.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, from 2009 to 2020, the Institute of Archeology of Crimea investigated 47 burial structures. A large number of artifacts that date back to the era of the Great Migration of Peoples were transferred to the funds of the Bakhchisaray Museum-Reserve.
The exhibition project is based on objects from crypts and burials, which are of particular significance, value and complement the overall picture of the monument under study.
The exhibition presents metal products — fragments of ancient weapons (swords, a knife, an ax, a dart), ammunition and jewelry items (buckles, brooches, beads), household items — ceramic dishes (bowls, bowls, amphoras, whorl)the organizers said.
The exhibition is located on the territory of the Khan’s Palace until September 20, 2023.
