Archaeological finds of the Artezian settlement — in the Museum of Stone Antiquities of Kerch

Monumental finds, many of which became a sensation of the 2023 archaeological season in the Artezian settlement of the Leninsky district, will be included in the exhibition of the Lapidarium of the East Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve of Kerch. Among the 30 tons of artifacts found this season during excavations at the Artesian site are fragments of marble slabs and statues of Zeus, limestone pit covers, wine presses, and various monumental finds. There are also several sensational ones. One of them is a fragment of an ancient slab with an inscription in honor of the Bosporan king Pharnaces II, who was the son of Mithridates VI Eupator, the head of an antique statue made of white marble, which belongs to the statue of Pharnaces II, represented in the image of the god Zeus. Archaeologists have yet to find the remaining elements of the inscription and statue. At the place where all this was discovered, according to archaeologists, stood the temple of Zeus Genarchsays the publication.
