Archaeological research continues in the Khan's Palace

Minister of Culture of the Republic of Crimea Tatyana Manezhina, as part of a working trip, visited the cultural heritage site Khan’s Palace, where repair and restoration work is underway.
Currently, large-scale archaeological research is being carried out on the territory of the palace. Based on the results, a decision will be made on museumification of the identified archaeological heritage. Together with the heads of institutions and representatives of contracting organizations, the minister checked the progress of measures to preserve a cultural heritage site of federal significance, as well as activities related to archaeological excavations. With the participation of Deputy Ministers Olga Yakunina and Andrey Rostenko, issues arising during the work were considered and appropriate instructions were given— reported the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.
To date, out of 16 objects of the Khan’s Palace complex, 12 objects have already been completed or are in a high degree of readiness (Durbe Dilyara-Bikech Tomb, Northern Durbe Tomb, South Durbe Tomb, Catherine’s Mile, Tomb Rotunda «, «Bathhouse «Sary Guzel», «Embankment with three bridges», «Stable building», «Library building», «Falcon Tower», «Khan’s Mosque», «Harem»). Also, repair and restoration work continues at 4 objects (“Count’s (suite) building”, “Khan’s kitchen”, “Main building”, “Gardens and park structures”). Acceptance of work as a whole for the Khan’s Palace ensemble is planned for 2025.
REFERENCE. Repair and restoration work at the federal cultural heritage site “Ensemble “Khan’s Palace of the 16th-19th centuries.” continue under the state program of the Russian Federation “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol” (financing 3.6 billion rubles). The customer is the Directorate for Centralized Maintenance and Development of Cultural Institutions, contractors FAU RosKapStroy, LLC RSK Hephaestus.
