Archaeologist's Day in Chersonesos — master classes, excursions, exhibitions

On August 15 from 10:00 to 13:00 we invite you to celebrate Archaeologist Day in the museum-reserve! Thematic master classes, video lectures, excursions, a stand exhibition and an interactive photo zone will be waiting for you in the Byzantine courtyard. It will be interesting for both children and adults — they promise in the museum-reserve.

You can join this fascinating profession at the master classes «Archaeological Sandbox», «Draw Your Archaeologist» and «Washing Ceramics». Time and place — from 10:00 to 13:00 in the Byzantine courtyard.

The stand exhibition «Everyday Life of an Archaeologist» will tell about the people whose professional holiday is celebrated on August 15. It will be open in the Byzantine courtyard from 09:00 to 21:00. Also on this day you will be able to take wonderful pictures at the interactive photo zone!

At 10:30 and 12:30, thematic excursions «Archaeologist’s Diary» will be held in Tauric Chersonesos. During them, guests will be told about the peculiarities of this unusual profession and about the people who have forever remained in the history of the museum. From 11:00 to 13:00 a video lecture will be held in a cozy and cool tent in the Garden of Miniatures, and from 12:00 to 12:40 a wonderful concert will be held in the Byzantine Courtyard!

You can visit the museum-reserve on Archaeologist’s Day only with tickets! We remind you that for residents of Sevastopol, admission is free upon presentation of original documents confirming permanent or temporary registration in the hero city.
