Archive of Sevastopol: The virtual exhibition of front -line letters of the Great Patriotic War is opened

The archive of our city introduced the new virtual exhibition “Times of the Blessing Thread. Front letters of the period of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 In the archival meeting of the hero city of Sevastopol. » The exhibition is dedicated to Sevastopol during the Great Patriotic War and allows readers to touch the wartime through personal stories and experiences of direct participants in the events.
The front-line letters presented at the exhibition reveal not only the fate of individual fighters, their thoughts and feelings, but also demonstrate a unique system of military-field mail, which ensured the connection of the front and rear.
The fate of the heroes, whose letters are presented at the exhibition, developed differently. But the memory of them, about their feelings and experiences, has been preserved in family archives. These letters, transferred to the archive of the city of Sevastopol, became a valuable addition to our collection of documents about the Great Patriotic War. They are like a “binding thread”, uniting generations of Russians and allows everyone to feel their involvement in the history of the middle name— comments the chief archivist Marina Solovyova.
