Crimean firefighters remind that uncontrolled burning of dry vegetation can lead to dire consequences:

  • The fire can develop into a large fire and spread to the forest.
  • Fire threatens homes, infrastructure, farmland, etc.
  • Ash does not penetrate the soil, remaining on the surface or being washed away by rain into rivers and reservoirs.
  • Fire damages young shoots of grass and destroys plant buds and seeds.
  • Beneficial microorganisms, insects, worms, small mammals, nesting and clutches of birds die.
  • The flame destroys young woody shoots.
  • The air is polluted with hydrocarbons, ash, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.

To avoid this, the following fire safety rules must be observed:

  • Install a container of water and a fire extinguisher at each residential building;
  • mow down last year’s dry vegetation on and near your site;
  • do not leave containers with flammable and combustible liquids or flammable gases in open areas near buildings;
  • if the land plot is located near a forest, ensure work to create fire-fighting mineralized strips;
  • do not allow children to play with matches, lighters and other sources of open fire, because children’s pranks are one of the most common causes of fires.
