Art cluster «Tavrida»: Green festival — let's make Sudak greener together

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On October 28, a Green Festival will be held in the area of the city of Sudak — open events for residents and guests of the peninsula to green the territory of Kapsel Bay. The event will mark a new stage in the history of reforestation in Crimea: green infrastructure will be created in the vicinity of Sudak, where the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries of the Tavrida art cluster (a project of Rosmolodezh) is located, and in the coastal zone of the bay.

When one person plants a tree, it is very difficult to grow a grove. But if everyone plants at least one tree, you can definitely grow not just a grove, but a whole forest, — said the head of the Tavrida art cluster Sergei Pershin. — There are certainly many places for landscaping in Sudak, but we decided to start with the most difficult challenge green the deserted Kapsel Bay. We want Sudak to become greener not only inside the urban area, but also around it, so that this greenery pleases the eye, inspires and impresses. It is impossible to do this alone, so we invite everyone around us to do it together. For our part, we have already attracted the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology and large forest protection organizations. But still this is not enough. It is necessary that every resident of Sudak and the entire Crimean Peninsula be involved in this project. I am sure that one thing inspires, which launches a whole chain of other things. And if the desert turns green, everything around will definitely bloom.

The green festival, which will take place in Kapsel Bay near Sudak on the last Saturday of October, will bring together everyone who wants to contribute to the formation of new forest plantations in Crimea. Guests will be able to plant their own plants, so that in the end more than 1,000 trees and perennial shrubs will become part of the new ecosystem of the bay.

A large family holiday for local residents and tourists will take place on the embankments and on the territory of the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries.

A rich program awaits guests at the festival sites. In particular, as part of the “Plant Exchange” campaign, residents will be able to share green pets with each other or donate them to the Meganom Academy Foundation in exchange for souvenirs and commemorative sets. Anyone who does not have plants will be able to take any home.

On the territory of the Meganom Academy, a business program and activities from partners will be held in creative workshops. Experts will give lectures on the flora and fauna of Crimea, the development of territories in the logic of climate change, as well as tourism on the peninsula. The partners will present an environmental quiz, VR excursions to Russian nature reserves, conduct educational eco-games and much more.

In addition, master classes for children and adults, “green” excursions around the Academy’s territory, a fair of Crimean craftsmen, and an interactive projection about the life cycle of cedar in the Academy’s exhibition hall are planned.

All day long, music will be played for festival guests: DJ sets on the beach from invited artists, performances by resident artists of the Tavrida art cluster. One of the expected events of the event will be performances by the Russian folk rock band The Hatters and the popular singer Khabib.
