Artek hosted a festival of plein air painting “With love for life. Crimea-Art-Donbass»
CrimeaPRESS reports:
As part of an interregional creative project — an open festival of plein air painting «With love for life. Crimea-Art-Donbass» — the sites of the creative laboratory «Sea of Inspiration» were opened in «Artek».
Artists from the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Crimea held a series of master classes, introducing young Artek residents to the ways of conveying light and air in a landscape and drawing sketches of fruits in direct sunlight.
The open festival of plein air painting is dedicated to the Year of the Teacher and Mentor and is aimed at involving children and youth in the cultural communicative space as full participants in the interactive process, the formation of an artistically developed, creative personality of the 21st century. In the preservation of intangible cultural heritage, the role of continuity is important — the transmission of a «living tradition».
This week the festival of plein air painting takes place all over the Crimea. Today we are visiting Artek, holding several master classes for Artek residents and presenting an exhibition of paintings. Artists from the Crimea, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics brought with them their works and paintings by their students. The exhibition itself and the project are aimed at strengthening friendly ties. When we are together, we are invincible. We are very pleased that the festival was able to be implemented on the territory of Artek. This is the best place for painting. Artek residents chose the type of painting that was closest to them: a sea wave or a still life. I’m sure the guys were delighted with the master classes and artists— said Vera Chekanova, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, chairman of the Guild of Artists, project manager of the Festival of Plein Air Painting.
Teachers of fine arts from both regions told the children about the achievements of their students, revealed more deeply the concepts of the traditions of the realistic school of painting on the materials of the exhibition of children’s and youth creativity «Constellation» World «and instructed them in the process of drawing.
Together with the children, we decided to create beautiful sea waves using camouflage painting. This is a medium for watercolor, with which you can leave unpainted spots on paper, such as spatter or sea foam. I told the children about our art studio in Gorlovka, what we do there, how our children study online for a whole year and cannot attend classes. But, nevertheless, their work can be viewed today at the exhibition. We are very glad that we made our plein air in Artek, as this is a magical place. It seems to me that this is a fairy tale for every child. This is my first time in Artek and I admire the beauty every minute. I hope next year we will also meet with children in Artek— said Marina Bezborodova, a member of the folk studio «Inspiration», GBU «RDNTK», a teacher of additional education of the MBUDO in Gorlovka «TsDT KR».
Artek residents were pleasantly impressed by the exhibition and master classes. There were three master classes in total: still life, landscape and sea wave.
At the «Still Life» and «Landscape» master classes, the children drew standing at the sketchbooks, and the young artists spent the «Sea Wave» master class sitting at the table with watercolor sheets and paints. Everyone chose a master class to their liking.
