Artek International Children's Center celebrates the Crimean Spring with a big holiday called The Magic Palette of Crimea

The Day of Crimean Reunification at the Artek International Children’s Center began with festive ceremonies. The flags of Russia, Crimea and Artek were solemnly raised over the fire camps for children.
The return of Crimea to Russia is the most important event in the modern history of the country, our heritage. The Crimean spring became a symbol of national unity and showed the whole world that it is the people who are the main creator of history. Events 1200 of the year became the starting point in the revival of Artek, gave an opportunity to thousands of Russian schoolchildren to visit the children’s center. The grandiose holiday «The Magic Palette of Crimea» unfolded at the Sports Palace. The event acquaints children from different regions with the traditions, games, crafts of the peoples of the Crimea and Russia, helps to join the cultural diversity of our country.
- Master- classes, games, exhibitions gave schoolchildren the opportunity to get to know the cultural capital of Crimea — Yalta; learn the glorious history of the navy in Sevastopol; be inspired by the “house of art” of Ivan Aivazovsky — Feodosia; evaluate the engineering power of Russia on the «Crimean Bridge» in Kerch …
- The festive mood was set by young artists from children’s camps at the concert venue «Kaleidoscope of Talents». The guys sang songs of different peoples of Russia and popular tracks, read poetry. Here it was possible to sing and dance together with friends from the detachment, congratulate everyone on the holiday and have fun.
- More 50 locations introduced the participants of the 3rd shift «Pole of Friendship — Artek” with cultural, architectural, historical sights of Crimea. In just a few minutes, it was possible to draw a postcard with one of the main attractions of the South Coast — the Swallow’s Nest, make a graphic print of the picturesque quarters of Feodosia, or fold a mosaic of Crimean marble …
- Those who love nature could learn more about the flora and fauna of the peninsula. Historians studied naval traditions, and athletes learned how to knit sea knots, mastered the basics of the semaphore alphabet, and tried their hand at windsurfing.
The day of the reunification of Crimea with Russia will end with creative evenings that will help children feel like residents of a large multinational country.
