Artek residents became participants in the expert session “To keep the memory of the young”

On April 19, within the framework of the All-Russian campaign dedicated to the Day of United Actions in memory of the genocide of the Soviet people by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War, an expert session «To keep the memory of the young» was held. The discussion was attended by the Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov, speakers-experts, Artek students and employees of the thematic program «Without a statute of limitations», students and teachers of educational organizations of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions joined the project online.

The meeting participants talked about why it is so important to remember the crimes of the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War and bring the special military operation in Ukraine to a victorious end.

The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and personally the head of the department, Sergei Kravtsov, actively support the holding of commemorative actions and events in educational organizations throughout the country in memory of the innocent victims of the Great Patriotic War. The head of the Ministry of Education met with Artek workers at an expert session as part of the All-Russian action dedicated to the Day of United Action in memory of the genocide of the Soviet people by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War, “To keep the memory of the young”, which began at the Memorial “Krasny concentration camp”. He spoke about significant memorable dates important for the preservation of historical memory, and about the education of young people.

Never forget the crimes that were committed by the Nazis. And these are not only war crimes, crimes against the military, these are crimes against civilians. The ideology of Nazism, the superiority of some people over others, is what leads to the collapse of the whole world. And Russia is fighting against it. Our heroes are not only fighters, but also teachers who win on the information front— said Sergey Kravtsov.

The expert session continued at the International Children’s Center, and it began with a demonstration of a film about the orphanage, which was evacuated from Simferopol to Yeysk at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. It contained children with disabilities. After the occupation of Yeisk on October 9-10, 1942, the Sonderkommando SS-10a brutally killed 214 children (102 girls and 112 boys) in “gas chambers” cars.

Addressing the young participants of the event, the first vice-rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, director of the VNMTs «Philosophy of Education» Natalya Sklyarova noted that the task of adults is to convey to the young generation the memory of the events of 1941-1945.

In every clan there are people who died during the Great Patriotic War: they fell on the battlefields, during the bombing, from hunger, during their labor feat near the machines … And today’s session is dedicated to trying to find those forms of communication and work, so that you take the memory that is in the heart of each of us, and put it in your heart, and then try to pass it on to your children and grandchildren— said Natalya Sklyarova.

Emotionally minded schoolchildren actively joined the conversation and caught every word of the experts who said that it is impossible to raise a patriot who truly loves his country with dry, soulless lectures, memorizing historical dates and events. And you need to start studying history with your family, passing through yourself the past of your ancestors. After all, there is no one in our Fatherland who would not be affected by the Great Patriotic War. And this memory has no statute of limitations.

Answering the questions of the guys, the speakers drew their attention to the fact that without knowing the history of the place where a person lives, the heroes of their land and emotional attitude towards them, one cannot become a real citizen.

Discussing the need to correct modern textbooks in the humanities, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, Senator from Sevastopol Ekaterina Altabayeva noted that they should be filled with figurative examples of true service to the Fatherland, courage and heroism shown in the defense of the Motherland.

Until recently, the topic of the genocide of the Soviet people was not sufficiently represented in the system of Russian education. And today, when the issue of forming the value foundations of our society becomes relevant, it is especially important to include information about the work that is being carried out within the framework of the project “Without a statute of limitations” in the program of extracurricular activities “Conversations about the Important”. The memory of our children and grandchildren is the guarantee that the Nazi idea of ​​enslaving and exterminating peoples will never be repeated in the future.— Ekaterina Altabaeva emphasized.

Artek residents took an active part in the conversation — winners of competitions and festivals of the «Without statute of limitations» project, the purpose of which is to preserve the historical memory of the war crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War, the genocide of the Soviet people in wartime. The children were interested in whether the soldier is responsible for the atrocious crimes carried out on orders.

Schoolchildren are also particularly interested in how modern history develops. According to experts, communication with its direct bearers, the defenders of Russia, the heroes of the NWO, will help them figure this out.

At the expert session, Artek workers demonstrated that they are interested in the history of our country and its future. The guys are sure that “without knowing the past, there will never be a future”, therefore they are ready for the further implementation of the project “Without a statute of limitations”, work on research projects, create museum expositions, and engage in archival and search activities.
