A culinary master class on baking pancakes was held at the Artek International Children’s Center. Artek residents prepared the main treat of Maslenitsa week — they tasted it themselves and treated their friends.
High-grade flour, selected eggs, fresh milk and a «pinch of friendship» — this is the recipe for the perfect Artek Maslenitsa pancakes. Under the guidance of the chef of master classes and animation of CJSC Preschool Nutrition Plant Alena Erofeeva, the team of cooks from the children’s camp «Lazurny» was the first to prepare a treat.
Alena taught artek girls how to use kitchen equipment like real chefs do, how to properly knead the dough, how to cook hearty and sweet fillings for pancakes. And the young chefs told how they bake pancakes and celebrate Maslenitsa at home.
I liked the master class! I spent it with people whom I love very much — with the guys from my squad. Our pancakes promise to be very tasty. I will definitely make them at home. My mother was in «Azure» in the 646 year. I want to treat her so that she plunges into childhood and feels the Artek atmosphere , — says Anya Metlitskaya from Moscow.
The girls carefully memorized the proportions, ingredients and culinary secrets, so that later they could please their friends and family with pancakes.
I’m glad to celebrate Maslenitsa in Artek. Today we baked pancakes with different fillings — both hearty and sweet. All of them are very tasty, because they are made with soul, with love. We tried very hard! We want to treat our boys from the detachment. This week I wish everyone happiness, kindness, more time to spend with loved ones and appreciate this time , — says Sofia Vorobyova from the village of Krasny Oktyabr, Krasnodar Territory.
Introducing children to cooking is important: it is a valuable practical skill and unifying family or friendly leisure. During Shrovetide week, Artek canteens will host four master classes, children from different camps of the children’s center will take part in them.
