On June 17-18, the first «Clean Games» of this season were held in Sevastopol. They were held as a result of an internship organized by ANO «Center for the Formation of Civic Culture» and ANO «RVB Dolina» with the support of the Department of Internal Policy of the city of Sevastopol. Leading experts from Stavropol and the Sverdlovsk region came to the city for two days — Danila Shestakov, head of the City of the First environmental movement, Pavel Bogdanov, coordinator of environmental events «Clean Games» in the Stavropol Territory, and Albina Ganieva, coordinator of environmental events «Clean Games» In Ekaterinburg. They worked with trainees — activists who wanted to organize eco-competitions in Sevastopol themselves.
The first day of the internship was theoretical. A fascinating lecture was held in the IT-Crimea technopark. During it, the speakers — Danila Shestakov, Pavel Bogdanov and Albina Ganieva — told the volunteers in detail about how the Clean Games are held, explained how to choose a venue for competitions, how to coordinate them with the authorities, what partners are needed to implement a variety of tasks . The experts also shared their experience in holding Clean Games in other regions.
On the second day of the internship, June 18, the first «Clean Games» of this season were held in Sevastopol. They took place in the area of the Fisherman’s Quay, at the historical site «Rural estate of the ancient allotment 101a» (4th — 1st century BC). The competition was attended by five teams, which included 30 people. During the game, each participant also managed to feel like a volunteer and organizer.
In total, the teams, which were happily joined by residents of nearby houses, collected 45 kilograms of garbage. The winners of the competition were the team «Tatars rule the World», the second place went to the «Dragons», and the third went to the «Unicorns». Three more games are ahead of us — they will be held in August, September and October as part of the city tournament «Small Cup of Purity». The organizers of these games will be participants who completed an internship on June 17 and 18— say the organizers of the event.
