Today, a good holiday is celebrated throughout the country — the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. A warm atmosphere reigned that day in Simferopol as well. In the morning in the Children’s Pack, at the monument to the patrons of the family and marriage — Saints Peter and Fevronia, a bishop’s prayer service was held, which was held by the Simferopol clergy.

During the day, a master class was held for young visitors to the park on creating a symbol of the holiday — chamomile. An action of drawings on asphalt was also held, where boys and girls were offered to draw their families with crayons.
Recall that the sculptural composition in honor of the holy princes Peter and Fevronia was opened in the Children’s Park of Simferopol in 2018. On the pedestal is written: «Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom miracle workers patrons of the family and marriage», and a capsule with Murom land is placed at the base.
For the first time, Russians celebrated the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity in 2008. It was established on the initiative of the deputies of the State Duma, and this new holiday was supported not only by all the traditional religious organizations of the country, but also by ordinary people. It should be noted that the idea of creating such a holiday was born by the residents of the city of Murom, located in the Vladimir region. It was in it that the holy spouses Peter and Fevronia lived, who are considered the patrons of the Orthodox family. The day of July 8 is the date of their memory, which is why it was chosen for this holiday.
In Crimea, this holiday has long become a tradition. Since 2007, the Simferopol and Crimean diocese, with the blessing of Vladyka Lazar, has been holding festive events on the Day of Remembrance of the Holy Blessed Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia as part of the ongoing program «Revival of Spiritual Family Traditions», carried out jointly with state institutions, the leadership of the Republic of Crimea, educational and cultural authorities , the general public.
