Associate professor, teacher at a Crimean university punished for discrediting the Russian Armed Forces

In Crimea, as a result of joint actions of the police and the regional FSB Directorate, a university teacher was brought to administrative responsibility for discrediting the RF Armed Forces.
Employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, during operational search activities together with employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, established the fact of public dissemination on the Internet of symbols of an organization whose activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as discrediting the Armed Forces RF.
The citizen, being an associate professor at a Crimean university, posted prohibited information on a social network page he administrated. In particular, the citizen published a video with the symbols of an organization recognized as extremist and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as a video aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
In relation to the offender, the police drew up administrative protocols under Part 1 of Article 20.3 (propaganda or public display of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols, or paraphernalia or symbols of extremist organizations, or other paraphernalia or symbols, the propaganda or public display of which is prohibited by federal laws) and Part 1 Article 20.3.3 (public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintain international peace and security, including public calls to prevent the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for these purposes, or to discredit the exercise by state bodies of the Russian Federation of their powers outside the territory of the Russian Federation for the specified purposes, as well as to discredit the provision of assistance by volunteer formations, organizations or individuals in the performance of tasks assigned to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, if these actions do not contain signs of a criminal offense ) Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
Today, the court of the Kyiv district of Simferopol sentenced the associate professor to a fine of 32 thousand rubles. Whether this citizen T. will continue to teach is a question for the university management (ASiA).
