At KFU — premiere of the play for the 225th anniversary of A. S. Pushkin
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In honor of the 225th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin, on the eve of the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture, the premiere of a play prepared by the theater studio “Hard Sign” took place at the Crimean Federal University.
The play tells about students who were preparing to celebrate an event on the occasion of Pushkin’s birthday and at a spiritualistic seance they evoked the spirit of the poet, whose role was played by the wonderful vocalist Airat Gafurov.
Under the leadership of the initiator of the event, head of the department of Russian and foreign literature of the Institute of Philology of KFU Sergei Kuryanov, fourth-year students Victoria Pavlishchuk and Elizaveta Tagiltseva wrote the script for the play. If Victoria has already staged her own play on stage, then for Elizabeth this is her first experience in drama:
The script was written together with Victoria Pavlishchuk, and several creative teams were involved in its implementation. And the idea came to me in a very simple way — I was just riding in transport and going through different options for the development of events of Pushkin’s appearance in the modern world, and then Vika and I chose the most successful one.
This holiday, celebrated at the university for the first time, was remembered by students and teachers who came to the premiere for its bright performances: ballroom dancing from the Tavrichesky College KFU studio, songs from the Octavia choral singing studio, and the Yunost folk ensemble captivated the audience with a fiery gypsy dance to the song “Shaggy Bumblebee”, which was inimitably performed by the soloists of the vocal group “KFU Stars”.
Head of the Department of Russian and Foreign Literature of the Institute of Philology of KFU Sergei Kuryanov:
We really wanted the 225th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin to be noticeable for our university. In the end, the month that he spent in our wonderful Crimea in 1820 completely changed his life and led him to the heights that he later reached. First of all, I congratulate you on this wonderful holiday, happy birthday of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin! I remind you that Pushkin is the very person who unites all of Russia. Remember his own words:
Rumors about me will spread throughout Great Rus’,
And every tongue that is in it will call me,
And the proud grandson of the Slavs, and the Finn, and now wild
Tungus, and friend of the steppes Kalmyk.
I would like to personally thank our graduates, 4th year students Elizaveta Tagiltseva and Victoria Pavlishchuk, whose idea was embodied here; it may not be enough as they thought. I mean, it has undergone changes, but it has come to fruition, and I thank them very much for that. I want to express my gratitude to the Department of Social and Educational Work of the Crimean Federal University, its departments, and personally Evgenia Ferbey and Natalya Ponomarenko, who did a lot to make this all come true. Congratulations again and wish you all success!
