At the Crimean Academic Puppet Theater — New Year's performances and the premiere of the fairy tale «The Egoistic Giant»
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On December 22, the New Year campaign starts at the Crimean Academic Puppet Theater. According to tradition, the children will be met by the long-awaited Father Frost and the Snow Maiden, who will put on a real New Year’s performance with fun games and riddles, a search for a Christmas tree with golden cones, New Year’s football, festive mood, magic and miracles. A special gift for this wonderful holiday will be the premiere of the play “The Egoistic Giant” based on the work of Oscar Wilde.
A fairy-tale extravaganza with a fantastic plot, unusual decorations, wonderful transformations, and a real winter ball of magical creatures that always live among people will take place on the stage of the puppet theater. A funny, gentle, instructive story will tell about the re-education of a stupid Giant, who will understand that if you live only for yourself, you can miss something very important. How can this be avoided? Is there any cure for the disease called “selfishness”? Our amazing heroes will tell you about this and much more. The world created by the production team: director and author of the dramatization Dmitry Smirnov and artist Eduard Kulish, immerses the viewer in the atmosphere of Oscar Wilde’s fabulous lyrics, seasoned with subtle and elegant humor. And symbols and allegories always remind us of the deep philosophical meaning of this story.
Theater artists — Konstantin Gaponov, Yulia Yatsenko, Olga Volobueva and Vladimir Aleshin will lead the audience to the beautiful Garden of the Giant, allowing them to come into close contact with the world of goodness, light and love! The premiere of the performance will be presented to the audience on December 22, 23 and 24. In addition, during the New Year holidays from December 22 to 30 and from January 2 to 8, the theater will present the best winter performances of past years: “Rukavichka”, “Snow Men and the Sun”, “Morozko” and “Jazz-Frost”, which the audience has already fallen in love with,” notes the head of the literary and dramatic department Galina Telegina.
