At the dacha “Omure” the new exhibition project of the Museum “Chekhov and Crimea”: “A.P. Chekhov and «Muse of the Silver Age»

In the thematic sections of the exhibition, unique artifacts of the Stock Collection of the Crimean literary and artistic memorial museum-reserve, which includes the Czechs and Crimea, will present unique artifacts. Among them are rare photos with gift inscriptions, unique publications and personal belongings of Anton Chekhov. Guests will be able to see the notebook of the great playwright with the notes of Alexei Suvorin, Dmitry Merezhkovsky, Pavel Svobodin and Nikolai Leikin. Also, the exposition will be presented for the first time the “annual imperial theaters”, which published information about the repertoire of the imperial theaters of St. Petersburg and Moscow, lists of artists and reviews of theatrical seasons.
Exhibition «A.P. Chekhov and “Muse of the Silver Age” ”can be visited until October 27, 2025, according to the schedule of the work of the Museum“ Chekhov and Crimea ”at the Omyur dacha.
Reference: The Czechs and Crimea Museum on Kirov Street, 32a — an old pseudo -Gothic style mansion belonging to the Ilovaysky family. The dacha «Omure» (translated from the Crimean Tatar «Life») was built in 1888 according to the project of the architect Ovsyanoy. From October 1898 to April 1899, writer A.P. Chekhov lived in this house on the ground floor. Here he wrote the stories “On Service Affairs”, “New Dacha”, “Case from Practice”, “Darling”.
