At the International Exhibition and Forum «Russia» they discussed issues of sanatorium and resort treatment in Crimea

At the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”, as part of the business program of the Day of the Republic of Crimea, an expert session “Crimea — new realities” was held. At it, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Crimea, Konstantin Skorupsky, made a report “Century-old traditions of Crimean health resorts: healing natural factors as an inexhaustible source of health.”

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea operates 14 sanatoriums where patients can receive treatment in various medical fields: pediatrics, orthopedics and traumatology, neurology, cardiology, psychoneurology, ophthalmology, endocrinology, dermatology, urology, pulmonology, therapy, medical rehabilitation, phthisiology. All sanatoriums operate all year round and are located on the Southern Coast and Western Coast of Crimea.

Every year, from 30 to 40 thousand people undergo sanatorium-resort treatment in the sanatoriums of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea, of which about 20 thousand are children. These are not only Crimeans, but also residents of other regions of our country — from Kaliningrad to the Far East. Over many years of operation, the sanatoriums have acquired unique experience in the field of health improvement and treatment, based on the use of natural healing factorsnoted the head of the Crimean Ministry of Health.

Konstantin Skorupsky spoke about the history of the development of Crimean health resorts, as well as the use of various natural resources in sanatorium-resort treatment — these are climatic features, mineral and thermal waters, therapeutic mud, brine of salt lakes, etc. According to him, the future of Crimean health resorts will undoubtedly be based on the undeniable regional advantages of medical and health tourism.

The chief freelance specialist in sanatorium and resort treatment of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea, Artur Slyusarenko, spoke about the work of children’s sanatoriums, their profiles and features. He noted that a distinctive feature of the sanatoriums of the Crimean Ministry of Health is an integrated approach to treatment, the work of doctors, speech therapists, speech pathologists, psychologists, and additional education teachers, which, in combination with natural and climatic conditions, gives effective results. All institutions have licenses for educational activities — during school hours, children continue their education. Particular attention in the work of children’s sanatoriums is paid to the leisure of children and the development of their creative potential.
