Attention! Competition! Chersonese Tauride offers to make a Christmas angel

The Museum-Reserve is reviving the tradition of creating Christmas decorations with your own hands and announcing the start of an all-Russian competition! The angels you make will appear on the holiday tree in Tauride Chersonese, and the winners will receive special prizes!

The Nativity of Christ is a great, solemn holiday, and the land of Chersonesos has a special relationship to it. After the baptism of Prince Vladimir, spiritual and moral values, icon veneration and Christian holidays with their traditions and history came to Rus’ from here and from the Byzantine Empire. One of them is Christmas. What is the symbol of this holiday? Of course, angels who announce to the world the birth of the Savior! The Museum-Reserve announces the All-Russian competition of designer toys “Christmas Angels in Chersonesos”. Any resident of our country can take part in it, regardless of age and city of residence. How to do it? Before December 13, send a toy in the shape of an angel to the museum-reserve! — noted in the press service of the museum-reserve.

Chersonesus will become a place of attraction for authors of Christmas decorations from all over the country. On his holy land, in the cradle of Russian Orthodoxy, hand-made toy angels will appear. They will decorate the Christmas tree in Chersonese Tauride and become exhibits of the museum-reserve, announcing to people the onset of a great holiday.

To participate in the competition you must:

• make a Christmas toy in the shape of an angel with your own hands;
• before December 13, send it to Khersones at the address: 299045, Sevastopol, st. Drevnyaya, 1. As the recipient of the letter, indicate the Federal State Budgetary Institution GIAMZ «Chersonese Tauride».

All the angels will become exhibits of the museum-reserve and will appear on the Christmas tree! The authors of the best jewelry in their categories will receive special prizes from Tauride Chersonesos.

Job requirements:

• made by hand;
• material of manufacture — any, except glass;
• all elements of the angel must be connected to each other;
• the toy must have loops or brackets for attaching to spruce branches;
• decoration size — from 5 to 20 cm;
• weight — no more than 400 g.

Acceptance of competitive works will last until December 13. The announcement of the results will take place on December 18.

The jury will determine the winners in three age groups (9 people in total).
