Attention! Fraudsters against the self-employed: a new fraud scheme has been developed
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea warns of an increase in fraudulent actions committed on behalf of the Federal Tax Service of Russia!
A new fraudulent scheme aimed at individual entrepreneurs and those who use the NPF regime has been revealed. A call is received on behalf of the tax service and a message is received stating that income has been found in bank accounts that was not taken into account when calculating the tax. After this, the fraudsters offer to reconcile tax payments, which have already allegedly been sent to the taxpayer. Of course, the «fake» document is not displayed either in the «My Tax» application or in the «Personal Account» on the FTS website. Therefore, the pseudo-tax officials convince that at the moment the resources of the FTS and the «Gosuslugi» portal are out of sync. To restore work, they ask to dictate the code from the SMS message, thus gaining access to the personal data on the taxpayer’s «Gosuslugi», and therefore the opportunity to apply for microloans on behalf of the victim.
The Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea reminds that the department’s employees do not report unaccounted income over the phone and do not offer to pay taxes online. All the necessary information is posted on the «Personal Account of the Taxpayer» service, and for the self-employed, also in the «My Tax» mobile application.
