The press service of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea “MFC” draws the attention of Crimeans to a new online fraud scheme, thanks to which attackers gain access to citizens’ pages on the State Services portal.
Fraudsters have begun to use a new scheme to hack personal accounts on the State Services portal. Attackers create phishing sites, posing as platforms of large companies, and send victims push notifications asking them to confirm their passport details using a link leading to a fake site to confirm their number. The user goes to the State Services portal, where he is required to enter the login and password for his personal account. After this, the scammers gain access to the victim’s account on the portal and confirmed information about the subscriber— reported the MFC.
