Autumn conscription: fifty young Sevastopol residents went to military service

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On October 1, the autumn conscription into the army began in Sevastopol — it will last until December 31 of this year. Today the first conscripts left the city’s assembly point for the troops. At the same time, the military commissariat emphasized that they would not be involved in participating in a special military operation.

Conscripts leaving for service today will be assigned to the Army, Engineers, Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense and National Guard troops. Sevastopol residents leave for military training units, where they will study for two to four months, receive a military specialty and will be distributed throughout the Armed Forces as specialists in order to master new types of equipment and weapons. Most of the military personnel will return to Sevastopol and Crimea after the training,” said Oleg Sitnikov, head of the department for preparing citizens for military service at the military commissariat.

The conscripts will be sent to serve in formations of the Western Military District and units of the National Guard of the Russian Federation.

According to the military commissar of the city of Sevastopol, Vitaly Sultanov, today more than 50 young people went to the troops. As part of the autumn conscription, it is planned to send about 500 people to serve in Sevastopol.
