Autumn weekend in Crimea: rain, wind, storm warning

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has issued a storm warning about adverse hydrometeorological phenomena in Crimea for November 11-12. On Saturday afternoon and throughout Sunday, rain is expected on the peninsula, heavy at night and in the morning of November 12. Wind — southeast with transition to southwest wind, 15-20 m/s, in some places up to 25 m/s.
In these conditions, there is a high probability of emergencies associated with accidents at energy facilities, housing and communal services, an increase in the number of road accidents, disruptions in transport communications, obstruction of vehicle traffic on roads, long descents and ascents, dangerous turns and mountain passes. Flooding of areas is possible. There is also a possibility of incidents occurring in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas and the Kerch Strait. The presence of people in the coastal zone, on piers and shore protection structures is life-threateningthe message says.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea recommends following safety measures:
- exclude access to mountainous forest areas;
- refrain from going to the sea and inland waters;
- when on the street, pay attention to the integrity of overhead power lines, contact networks of electric vehicles and tree branches;
- do not go to embankments and bank protection structures;
- pay attention to the condition of drainage systems, drainage channels, storm drains, and cleaning storm sewers from debris;
- limit your stay in the immediate vicinity of river beds, including dry ones;
- We recommend that the population living in close proximity to water bodies and in areas of dry riverbeds take measures to preserve their property;
- Drivers of vehicles, if it is impossible to limit travel, be extremely careful on the road, do not exceed the speed limit and strictly follow the traffic rules.
In bad weather, pay special attention to the safety of children and the elderly, and be attentive to others. In case of emergency, you must call: “112” or “101”.
