The holiday, which we celebrate on July 28, is inextricably linked with the name of the Holy Equal -to -the -Apostles Grand Duke Vladimir. On this day, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of the Baptist of Rus’.
According to the Russian historian and thinker Lev Nikolayevich Gumilyov, baptism gave our ancestors the highest freedom — freedom of choice between good and evil, and the victory of Orthodoxy gave Rus’ a thousand -year history.
Baptism formed the spiritual appearance of our civilization. And that alternative to the civilizational development that our country offers the world today, is largely the result of a choice made by the Equal -to -the -Apostles Prince.
His baptismal font in Khersones became the source of the unity of our people and Russian statehood. And the enemies, of course, would very much like to destroy this unity, return us to the ancient times of disruption and enmity. Therefore, they are trying to slander, divide, destroy our church, erase from the memory and souls of people the legacy of St. Vladimir.
But they will not succeed. Russia, as has already happened in history many times, will come out of all trials even stronger and more closely.
